Biography

Delaney Brooklyn is a singer/songwriter from St. Marys, Ontario, Canada. With roots planted in the alternative  and rock genres, her music is influenced by a variety of artists that span decades. From Amy Winehouse to Hayley Williams to Queen to Halestorm, Delaney has been honing her skills in writing and vocal skills since she was very young due to her influences. With the help of countless live performances and competitions, guitar lessons, and professional vocal training, music has been a lifeline in its own throughout her life as she pursues a career.

Delaney released her first all-original, seven-track album back in June of 2018 at the age of sixteen titled ‘Colour Blind’. Prior to the album, Delaney released one single, titled ‘Lose It’. Her latest release was in October of 2019, a song about freeing yourself a toxic relationship with family, titled Yesterday as well as a 2021 single October Tenth.

Delaney’s evolution into a full-fledged musician started young, singing since she could first speak. Beginning to play piano quickly at the age of six, it inspired her to pick up a guitar, and with that she fell head over heels for music’s entirety and never looked back.

Her passion for songwriting started around the age of twelve, writing the title track and six other that are featured on ‘Colour Blind’, which stays close to her heart. Delaney decided to become a professional musician around her first year of high school, and from there began to build and develop a career. Her interest, cultivated at a young age and has further developed through the completion of the Independent Songwriting and Performance Program at Seneca College in Toronto. She has taught vocal and guitar lessons at Deep Waters Music in St. Marys, mentoring all ages and families alike as well as working in music retail and on tour as a photographer with various bands.

Delaney has performed, placed and won Canada-wide completions including Stratford Star (Winner), Rise2Fame (2nd place), and Hidden Talent Canada (4th place). Performing since the age of three, she has played all over Ontario, from venues such as the Horseshoe Tavern to London Music Hall — and has even auditioned for The Voice in Chicago in past years! Recently, she has completed both the Independent Songwriting & Performance, and the Independent Music Production/Business programs at Seneca College/York University in Toronto. She has honed her skills and continued to learn and grow within the industry, working as a freelance concert photographer, CEO, founder of Archived Concerts Co., artist developer and ghostwriter. On and off stage, a poet through and through.

Currently living and working between London and Toronto, Ontario, Delaney continues to write and grow as an emerging force and solo band in the industry, with a new single Yesterday (2019) – available everywhere now!
